Because all of the countries Western Europe are MDCs they share the similar trend of a small amount of old and young people with a large amount of people in their middle ages. Out of all of these countries the France and Switzerland are the only two that have a noticeably large net gain of population all others, especially Germany, will soon loose a significant amount of their work force. The only country in Western Europe with a gender bias is Lichtenstein which has more males than females in its younger population.
Western Europe has very large amount of major metropolitan areas and some of the most populous cities. North France, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, and North Switzerland all are extremely dense with population contain 150 people per square kilometer. Conversely Southwest and Central France are not very dense with population. In Western Europe 79% of the population lives in an urban area largely due to urbanization due to Western Europe's early industrialization, and to a lesser degree because Europe is a small continent so in order to fit such a large amount of people they must live close to each other.
